Playing Slot Machines for High Stakes Online

Playing High Limit Slots

High limit slots Slots and Video Poker have mainly been "my thing" since I first gambled online back around 2004. I have gradually increased my stakes and now I am regarded by most casinos I play as a high limit player. My definition of "high limit" means generally betting a 2-figure sum per spin and expecting to cashout £ 5,000 or more on a regular basis.

Over that time, I have played well over 150 online casinos in my quest for the "perfect casino" and you know what? I still don't think I have found it, although a few - outlined below - have come close. I want my favorite games, with high bet limits, no f**king around with slow withdrawals and definitely no poxy low cashout limits. Easier said than done.

Identifying High Roller Friendly Casinos

I have already dealt with the pitfalls awaiting online high rollers so I won't dwell too much on that, suffice to say it's way less frustrating when you start at a casino that doesn't restrict you. That is the whole basis for that article: to help you find a casino that doesn't wind you up when you least want it!

If you play slots in land-based casinos then you will be pleased to hear that a lot of the games you will be familiar with from IGT, WMS, Aristocrat, Bally and Novomatic are available to play online - for high stakes too if you pick the right casino. On top of this, there are some brilliant slots from online-only developers like Microgaming and Playtech that are just as enjoyable. Check out my casino software comparison article for more specifics.

There is an opportunity here to bang on about variance, a topic that every slots player should read up on but this is dealt with in an article I wrote for Slotjunkies so I would urge you to read it if the concept is a new one to you. It's vital to understand how to bet on slots effectively. High rolling can take two forms: low variance "grinding" your way to a modest profit or the "high variance" all-or-nothing approach.

Either way, if you want to start with games you know from land-based casinos then what you want to get you started is a "multi-platform" casino. the problem here is that many of these have either low max bet limits or restrict cashouts, often to as low as £1,500 a week. But there are exceptions. If you see the words "EveryMatrix" or "Quickfire" thne be prepared to find lower cashout limits and bet limits. As a broad generalisation, these two platforms are not suitable for high rollers without some VIP negotiations!

A great starting point for many players is BetVictor who have a cross-section of familiar IGT, Aristocrat and Novomatic games like "Cleopatra", "Pompeii" and "Book Of Ra" among others along with some good online-only slots like "Thunderstruck" and "Dead Or Alive". Like all of the casinos I mention here, they don't restrict withdrawals either and the maximum bet limits are generally decent.

Another great multi-platform casino for UK players is Grosvenor Casino which have a really good selection of land-based games, this time from IGT, WMS, Novomatic and Aristocrat plus a Playtech download casino and the bet limits are always high. For non-UK players then BGO Casino does a similar job for WMS, IGT and Playtech slots while I'd recommend Quasar Gaming for high-limit Novomatic games.

Experienced online slot players will probably know the games they want already. Fans of Microgaming slots like Immortal Romance, Thunderstruck, Break Da Bank Again and other higher variance games will find the highest bet limits at "Vegas Partner Lounge" casinos including Golden Riviera, Crazy Vegas and Maple Casino (for example, up to £60 a spin on Immortal Romance and £90 on the 9-liners Thunderstruck, Spring Break and Ladies Nite etc.). UK Players can't play there anymore so the 32Red PLC brands offer the best alternative: 32Red Casino itself, Golden Lounge, Nedplay Casino, Dash Casino and the recently purchased and revamped Roxy Palace. These have a £30 max bet on Immortal Romance and £90 on Thunderstruck, Spring Break, Ladies Nite and the other 9-liners).

Of the casinos mentioned in the paragraph above, none of them impose cashout limits, except in instances where your bank imposes it's own restrictions. They all have a 24hr reverse pending period which delays payment processing a bit but these days that is not too unusual and often, a high limit VIP Player will be able to negotiate a way out of this by asking.

As a fan of Playtech slots too, I have had lots of problems in the past with casinos that licence those games but now there are a couple of very good options for high limit slots players available. My favorite is ComeOn! Casino which is the only casino I have found where you find both Playtech and Microgaming slots side by side! Additionally, the limits are huge allowing up to £125 a spin on Great Blue for example which is highly unusual. Very fast cashouts too and no restrictions.

Comparable to this only with no Microgaming slots and slightly slower cashouts is BGO Casino, again with high limits on Great Blue and Playtech slots available and a good range of other games by IGT, Net Entertainment and WMS too.

Follow-on reading: if you want to find casinos with a specific game then the unique Slotseek Service is a simple search engine that does just that. If you want long lists of casinos with cashout times and links to game lists then AZOC has several easy to use online casino lists divided up by developer and is the most popular resource on this site.

If you also play table games then the companion article "High Stakes Play on Table Games will hopefully be useful or if you want to understand more about the potential problems a high rolling player faces online, "The Pitfalls of High Rolling Online should be your next stop.
